The HEART & HANDS MIDWIFERY INTENSIVES course was founded by Elizabeth Davis in 1982, at the request of birth assistants seeking to acquire practical midwifery skills. Over the years and by demand, the course evolved to include basic introductory information and emphasis on the intuitive, interpersonal skills essential to effective midwifery care. The purpose of the HEART & HANDS MIDWIFERY INTENSIVES course is to provide students with a strong and integrated foundation in the art and science of midwifery.
2. Heart & Hands Advanced Workshops, San Rafael, CA, 9/9, 9/16, 9/23, 2012

Spring students: May 19, 20, and 26.
The Advanced Intensives focus on application and refinement of skills leaned in the basic intensive course. A practical, hands-on workshop format builds upon the academic/skills foundation you have already established. Little homework–lots of small group concentration!
